Mr and Mrs Berry moved to Selsey over 20 years ago and successfully run The Village Bakery here on the High Street. With their children having flown the nest, the time had come for them to downsize and find their ‘forever home’. In July 2021 the search began. The couple had good local knowledge and knew the areas they favoured, as well as a long list of essential features they desired:

The Berry’s viewed dozens of properties over the ensuing months but none felt quite right or ticked enough of the boxes on their wish list. They called into my office daily to check if anything new was coming to market and, in order not to disappoint their buyer, went ahead and completed on their own sale, moving into temporary accommodation while their search continued.
It was with some trepidation that I met them outside 4 Bonnar Close in February 2023. The property is a charming older-style detached bungalow but was in almost original condition with:

Before I had even unlocked the front door, Mr Berry turned to me and said “I am going to buy this bungalow”.......... and they did!
This property is going to be their forever home and they have so many exciting plans to put their own stamp on it.
Over the years I have lost count of the number of people I have sold to who have searched for a property with their heads and ended up buying solely with their hearts, however, this sale has felt the most rewarding.
I sold Mr and Mrs Berry their first house in Selsey in 1999, their second in 2005 and I am delighted to have also now sold them their third and final home here in 2023; a hat trick for them, the cherry on the cake for me!
